Design

I will design web sites for cash. I may also design for food. It depends on the food. I’m less picky about cash. As long as it’s legal tender we are good.

Recent Projects

Virginia Appaloosa Horse Club

Virginia
The Virginia Appaloosa Club had an old site that required somebody to hand edit the HTML anytime it needed an update. So it didn’t get updated often. I set them up with a Wordpress site and secured permission for them to use that awesome picture in the header.

Dark Horse Fencing Club

Dark Horse Fencing
Dark Horse, being volunteer run, depends quite a bit on its web site. It is the primary source of new members for the club. It also serves as a PR tool, highlighting the achievements of club fencers. The site features a Wordpress backend, and the header banner is adapted from original artwork provided by a club member. I manage the content and updates for the Dark Horse site

Girl Scout Troop 613

Girl Scout site
Girl Scout Troop 613 is my daughter’s troop. I built this for them as a communication tool to help keep far flung grandparents and other relatives up to date on what the kids are doing. It has a Movable Type back end, and the troop leadership manages all the content.

Stablemates 4-H Horse Club

Stablemates
I whipped this up for my daughter’s 4-H club because I couldn’t believe they didn’t have a web site. In fact, the only reason we visited the club originally was a personal recommendation. I was suspicious of a service organization that didn’t have a web presence. Like the Girl Scout site, I designed it but have little to do with the content updates. The banner was designed to incorporate the horse artwork that was drawn by one of the kids.

ParentalTech

ParentalTech
ParentalTech was my short lived foray into a full blown content site. I gave up after 60 days when I learned that I get bored writing about the same thing every day. Unfortunately, I forgot to grab a screenshot before telling my web host to kill it. My bad.

Horseshues

Horseshues
My other personal site, where I keep friends and family up to date on my daughter’s equestrian activities. The site also includes an e-commerce component where she sells hand decorated horseshoes.

This is a personal blog. Anything expressed here is at best my opinion and my opinion only. I'm not above making stuff up to start a conversation, so you are probably better off just not taking anything I write here too seriously. Comments are owned by whoever posted them.
